Orangeburg, SC –  Solicitor David Pascoe today released the following statement:

“As filing closes, I look forward to taking our message directly to voters across South Carolina.

I am the only candidate in this race who has taken on the most powerful politicians in our state and won. I led the Statehouse corruption probe and I am the only one with a proven record of standing up to the corruption that has held South Carolina back for far too long.

I am also the only candidate who has put men on death row. I have spent my career fighting violent crime and standing up for victims and I will bring that same focus to the Attorney General’s office. I believe we can dramatically reduce violent crime in our state by targeting repeat offenders and enforcing the law without fear or favor.

This race will present a clear choice.

I look forward to drawing a sharp contrast between my record and that of my two opponents. One is a liberal lawyer-legislator and career politician who has done nothing to fix the problems plaguing our state. The other has a record that raises serious questions about courage to fight corruption and lack of judgment in the most serious criminal cases, including the death penalty.

South Carolina does not need another politician. It needs a prosecutor. A prosecutor with the guts to take on the most powerful corrupt actors in our State. I am ready to do the job.
