Meet David

The Prosecutor Who Took Down a Political Kingdom

David Pascoe has spent over 30 years in the courtroom delivering justice to the people of South Carolina. As Solicitor, he successfully tried more than 300 violent crime cases, sent multiple men to death row—and to execution—and led one of the largest public corruption probes in state history.

He’s not a politician. He’s the prosecutor who took down the Speaker of the House, the Senate President Pro Tem, two Majority Leaders, and the House Judiciary Chair. When the South Carolina Supreme Court told him the only way to keep going was to become Attorney General, he listened. And now he’s running to finish the job.

A Proven Record of Justice and Integrity

2004 — Elected First Circuit Solicitor

David Pascoe is elected First Circuit Solicitor with the support of conservative Republican Sheriff Ray Nash. From day one, he sets out to build one of the toughest and most effective prosecutor’s offices in the state — focused on law, order, and accountability.

2004–2008 — First Term: Tough on Crime, Smart on Juvenile Reform

In his first term, Pascoe establishes a tough-on-crime agenda, earning statewide respect for his aggressive prosecution of violent offenders. He successfully prosecutes Mikal Mahdi, a convicted cop killer, and puts him on death row.

Pascoe also launched a faith-based youth mentoring program for non-violent juvenile offenders — recognized as one of the best juvenile prevention efforts in South Carolina.

  • Successfully tried over 300 violent crime indictments
  • Sent two men to death row
  • Led the largest corruption probe in state history
  • Built award-winning youth church mentoring programs

2013–Present — The State’s Most Relentless Anti-Corruption Prosecutor

Pascoe takes over the State House corruption probe after others walked away. He prosecutes the most powerful figures in South Carolina politics — including the Speaker of the House, Senate President Pro Tempore, two Majority Leaders, and the House Judiciary Chair — and dismantles the Quinndom political machine.

The media calls him the “Grim Reaper of the Legislature.”
